HSCC will oversee the establishment of the AIIMS hospital, which aims to enhance healthcare services in the region.
HSCC, a subsidiary of NBCC, has been awarded a project worth INR 1,261 Cr for the construction of AIIMS Darbhanga in Bihar. The contract was secured from the Union Health Ministry.

AIIMS Darbhanga will be developed on 188 acres, with over 2.25 lakh sq.m of construction area.
Reportedly, the project will include a modern healthcare facility, featuring a tertiary care hospital, medical college, AYUSH hospital, and residential accommodations for students and staff.
HSCC, as part of NBCC’s real estate and project management portfolio, has been appointed as the executing agency by the Ministry of Health.
Further, the AIIMS Darbhanga project is expected to be completed within 36 months and will significantly expand healthcare and medical education opportunities in the region.
NBCC, primarily involved in project management consultancy, said AIIMS Darbhanga will provide affordable healthcare and medical education to the population.
The project is seen as a major step forward in improving healthcare infrastructure in Bihar.
In recent developments, AIIMS Delhi collaborated with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to develop a specialized exoskeleton. This exoskeleton aims to assist injured soldiers who have lost their ability to walk or have become paralyzed, helping them regain mobility.
Additionally, to address the rising incidence of cancer in India, AIIMS Delhi partnered with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) Pune to introduce iOncology.ai.
This AI-based platform focuses on enhancing cancer diagnosis through early detection and analyzing complex medical data with high accuracy and efficiency.
Last month, AIIMS Delhi partnered with Osaka University in Japan to establish the National Center for Medical Device Development, Validation, and Skill Training in Jhajjar, Haryana.
This initiative aligns with the central government’s ‘Make in India’ campaign, aiming to reduce the country’s reliance on imported medical devices.
