Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has recently launched a mobile van under the 'Ni-Kshay Abhiyan' campaign to enhance tuberculosis (TB) eradication efforts in the state.
During the event, the Chief Minister underwent a TB screening using a portable X-ray machine.
The initiative will cover all districts of the state, urging public participation to identify symptoms and encourage timely testing.
Speaking at the event, CM Sukhu highlighted the 100-day 'Ni-Kshay Abhiyan' as a pivotal step towards making Himachal Pradesh TB-free.
“The campaign aims to ensure timely identification of TB cases, effective treatment, and increased awareness within communities," he said.

However, emphasizing the state’s demographics, he noted that 13% of the population is above 60 years old, necessitating early diagnosis and prevention measures.
"The health sector remains a top priority for the state government, and several reforms are being implemented to improve the system," he added.
CM Sukhu further outlined plans to improve healthcare infrastructure and personnel retention.
During the event, he announced proposed increases in allowances for specialist and super-specialist doctors, with allowances for super-specialists potentially rising from INR 60,000 to INR 1.75 lakh per month and for specialists to INR 1 lakh.
To strengthen medical services, the government has issued tenders for modern equipment for medical colleges and is upgrading emergency departments in hospitals.
Sukhu also mentioned plans to incorporate health education into school curriculums to foster early awareness.
The Chief Minister appealed to the Union government for a "Green Bonus" to support forest conservation efforts, describing Himachal's forests as the "lungs of North India." He also highlighted the state's revised industrial policy, focusing on promoting environmentally friendly industries.
During the event, Sukhu distributed Ni-Kshay nutrition kits to TB patients and honored institutions contributing to the campaign.
