Reflecting on the changes in healthcare, Kumaraswamy said India has witnessed significant advancements in the sector over the last ten years.
Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel HD Kumaraswamy has praised the healthcare reforms introduced over the last decade under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership, emphasizing their impact on public health.
Speaking at a recent event, Kumaraswamy said, “In the past decade, numerous reforms have been introduced in the healthcare sector, including the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which is the largest healthcare programme in the world, covering 500 million people. Additionally, several other unique programmes have been implemented by the Modi government, such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, PM Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana, Digital Health Mission, Mission Indradhanush and the establishment of Jan Aushadhi centres.”
Kumaraswamy noted that the Modi government had implemented various healthcare initiatives, including the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, PM Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana, Digital Health Mission, Mission Indradhanush, and Jan Aushadhi centers.
These programs, he stated, aim to make quality healthcare more accessible and affordable for all citizens.
Reflecting on the changes in healthcare, Kumaraswamy said India has witnessed significant advancements in the sector over the last ten years.
“Quality healthcare services are now available to the common man at affordable rates,” he said.
Kumaraswamy urged the graduating students to pursue their careers with a sense of duty towards society, describing the medical field as critical to the nation's well-being.
“Doctors not only safeguard an individual’s health but the health of the entire nation,” he added, encouraging them to serve as responsible and compassionate professionals.
