To monitor compliance with IPHS 2022 standards, the Health Ministry launched an open-source toolkit and a web-based dashboard on June 28, 2024. The dashboard enables real-time tracking of public health facility assessments, aiding data-driven decision-making and timely interventions.
The Union Health Ministry has announced to provide technical and financial support to States and Union Territories (UTs) to strengthen public healthcare systems, including hiring healthcare professionals in rural areas and improving infrastructure, according to an official release.
Under the National Health Mission (NHM), the ministry approves proposals submitted by States and UTs in the form of Programme Implementation Plans (PIPs). Financial approval is granted through the Record of Proceedings (RoPs) based on norms and available resources.
The Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS), developed in 2007 and revised in 2012 and 2022, set essential benchmarks for public healthcare facilities such as district hospitals, sub-district hospitals, community health centers, primary health centers, and sub-health centers.
These guidelines help States meet service standards, improving healthcare outcomes and public trust.

As of January 22, 2025, 93% of healthcare facilities have been assessed for IPHS compliance, with 55% scoring above 50%.
Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Prataprao Jadhav, provided these details in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.
