Union Health Minister JP Nadda has sanctioned INR 170 Cr to the Mizoram government under the Special Package for establishing Zoram Medical College.
Mizoram CM Lalduhoma met the Union Health Minister recently where the development took shape. During their discussion, Health Minister Nadda confirmed that the first installment of a Special Package for Mizoram’s lone medical college would be released shortly.
Additionally, they also discussed various developmental projects for Mizoram’s Health Sector.
In other discussions, DoNER and Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia assured CM Lalduhoma that funds allocated to Mizoram through the North Eastern Council (NEC) would be increased.
Scindia also agreed to address the challenges Mizoram faces with funds received through the Externally Aided Project (EAP).
Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla informed the CM that INR 21.64 Cr has been issued to the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) as a relief package for Cyclone Remal, with the second installment to be released soon.
In a meeting with National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, discussions included the establishment of the Mizo Scout Battalion under the Indian Army and addressing political instability and conflict in neighboring Myanmar.
Additionally, Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju assured Lalduhoma that the 65 projects under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) would be completed.
The Mizoram CM also requested Rijiju to allocate a seat for the lone Lok Sabha MP Richard Vanlalhmangaiha, who is affiliated with neither the NDA nor the INDIA alliance.
Recently, Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, speaking in a pre-budget meeting, said good health for the people of Rajasthan remains a top priority. He convened a pre-budget meeting, emphasizing that the upcoming budget would address immediate needs.
While in the East there have been several developments. Days back in Assam, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma restructured his cabinet, taking personal charge of the Health and Family Welfare Department in a decisive move.
This strategic reshuffle saw Sarma, who already manages the portfolios of home, personnel, public works, medical education and research, and indigenous and tribal faith and culture, further consolidating his grip on Assam's administrative machinery.
Earlier this year, former Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik virtually inaugurated 73 Ama Hospitals in 15 districts and five dialysis centers at the sub-division level under the Ama Hospital Scheme.
Reportedly, the government aimed to cover 1,858 hospitals under the transformation drive by 2027-28 and a provision of over INR 3,300 Cr has been made in this regard. Additionally, the transformation of 149 more hospitals is underway.
Likewise, Tripura CM Dr Manik Saha along with his cabinet members and Additional CEO of National Health Authority Dr Basant Garg launched Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana (CMJAY).
With the launch, Tripura became the first among the small states and the 12th state in the country to have CMJAY, a universal health insurance scheme on the pattern of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).
