Roche Diabetes Care India has announced that the initial batch of locally manufactured Accu-Chek Active meters is now available nationwide.

Roche Diabetes Care India has announced that their blood glucose monitoring device, the Accu-Chek Active, is now being manufactured in India. This strategic decision aims to enhance access to diabetes care and meet the growing demand in the Indian market. Roche Diabetes Care India is collaborating with manufacturing partner Sanmina-SCI India Pvt. Ltd. and assembly & distribution partner Parekh Integrated Services Pvt. Ltd. (PISPL) to facilitate this initiative.

The production of Accu-Chek Active meters will take place at Sanmina's advanced multi-client manufacturing site in Chennai, adhering to the globally approved quality standards associated with the brand. The first batch of these locally manufactured devices is already available in the market throughout the country.

Roche Diabetes Care India highlighted that by manufacturing the Accu-Chek Active meters in India, they aim to reduce the time to market, making the product more accessible to the increasing number of people living with diabetes in the country. Additionally, this decision aligns with the company's commitment to global sustainability goals by reducing their carbon footprint compared to importing the devices.

The packaging of the new Accu-Chek Active products will now proudly display the "Made in India'' label, symbolizing the shift in manufacturing.

Roche Diabetes Care India believes that this strategic move, in partnership with Sanmina, will strengthen their position as a leader in the blood glucose monitoring market in India. Omar Sherief Mohammad, Cluster Head of India, Middle East, and Africa for Roche Diabetes Care, expressed enthusiasm for this development, emphasizing that sustainability has been a fundamental aspect of Roche's business for 125 years.

Roche Diabetes Care India offers integrated personalized diabetes management (iPDM) products and solutions through their Accu-Chek range of blood glucose monitoring systems. This includes the Accu-Chek Active, Accu-Chek Guide, Accu-Chek Instant, Accu-Chek Instant S, as well as tech-driven solutions available on their mobile application called mySugr.

By manufacturing the Accu-Chek Active meters locally, Roche Diabetes Care India aims to streamline operations and reduce their environmental impact. Shortening the time to market will allow for more efficient distribution and availability of the devices, ensuring individuals with diabetes have easier access to the necessary tools for monitoring their blood glucose levels.

The availability of the first batch of Accu-Chek Active meters manufactured in India demonstrates Roche Diabetes Care India's commitment to serving the Indian market effectively. The company remains dedicated to improving diabetes care and supporting individuals in managing their condition through innovative products and solutions.

In conclusion, Roche Diabetes Care India's decision to manufacture the Accu-Chek Active blood glucose monitoring device in India reflects their commitment to improving access to diabetes care. By partnering with local manufacturers, they aim to reduce the time to market and increase sustainability by minimizing their carbon footprint. This strategic move strengthens Roche Diabetes Care India's position as a leader in the Indian blood glucose monitoring market and ensures that individuals with diabetes have access to reliable and accessible healthcare solutions.
