Swedish medtech firm Getinge has introduced two new products to improve surgical efficiency and safety.
The new offerings include the Maquet Corin operating room (OR) table and the Maquet Ezea surgical light, designed to support medical professionals in daily surgical procedures.
The Maquet Corin OR table features a range of enhancements to increase operational efficiency. It includes an intuitive interface and advanced safety features, such as smart sensor-based technology, intended to protect surgical staff and equipment during procedures.
Stéphane Le Roy, president of Surgical Workflows at Getinge, commented on the new table, saying, “Maquet Corin takes a step forward in areas crucial for surgical teams. Its flexibility and ease of use help save time by facilitating teamwork and communication. It also includes smart sensor-based safety features that help protect OR staff and equipment.”
The Maquet Corin OR table is noted for being the first connected OR table. It allows biomedical and service technicians to access detailed service data and usage statistics, ensuring the table is always ready for surgical use. This connectivity is designed to streamline maintenance and improve overall reliability.
Aruna Nayak, MD at Getinge India, said, “We are excited to bring these innovations to the Indian market, where they will undoubtedly enhance the capabilities of our healthcare professionals and improve patient outcomes.”
The Maquet Ezea surgical light is designed to complement the new OR table with its focus on durability and ease of use. It aims to meet current risk management standards while providing essential lighting functionality for surgical environments. The Ezea light is intended to simplify operations and adapt to the needs of evolving surgical practices.
Gregory Pinaton, VP of Manufacturing Surgical Workflows at Getinge, said, “For innovation, you must be open-minded, passionate and get the best expertise on board; Corin is the fruit of those values and has been developed with the Design for Manufacturing concept to guarantee the highest standard of safety and quality.”
