The AI App is expected to be available to US customers in 2025, initially focusing on prostate and breast cancers.

Leading global medtech company, GE Healthcare Technologies, has announced the launch of a new AI application - CareIntellect for Oncology, aimed at enhancing oncology care.

CareIntellect for Oncology is designed to streamline the diagnosis and treatment processes for cancer. This tool will help physicians quickly access relevant patient data, alleviating the need for extensive record searches.

Additionally, CareIntellect will identify clinical trials for which patients may qualify, simplifying a previously time-consuming process.

The AI App is expected to be available to US customers in 2025, initially focusing on prostate and breast cancers.

In conjunction with this launch, GE HealthCare established an AI innovation lab to expedite early-concept AI developments.

Dr Taha Kass-Hout, GE HealthCare’s Global Chief Science and Technology Officer, stated, “The AI Innovation Lab lifts the curtain on the work we are undertaking at the vanguard of healthcare innovation. We will continue to gather feedback from our customers as we find ways to help them apply AI to their health data and convert information into actionable, care-enhancing strategies.”

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to integrate AI into medical devices and applications while using AI to improve patient outcomes. The investment in cloud technology will support large-scale AI development by providing the necessary computing power.

Recent Innovations of GE Healthcare

Earlier, this year, GE Healthcare unveiled Revolution RT, a radiation therapy computed tomography (CT) solution at the European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ESTRO) 2024 Congress held at Glasgow.

As per the medtech giant, this latest innovation in oncology care is aimed at enhancing imaging accuracy and streamlining simulation workflow for clinicians and patients.

In May, GE Healthcare received 510(k) clearance from the United States FDA for its Portrait VSM vital signs monitor. This device is designed to provide clinicians with an accurate view of patient vital signs, facilitating timely clinical decisions.

Leveraging the SuperSTAT non-invasive blood pressure algorithm, the Portrait VSM ensures precise and accurate measurement readings, representing the next evolution of the DINAMAP legacy.

The company specializes in digital infrastructure, data analytics, and decision support tools that assist healthcare professionals in diagnosing, treating, and monitoring patients.
