This partnership brings together GE HealthCare’s established imaging systems with DeepHealth’s AI health informatics to create AI-enabled solutions, specifically the SmartMammo system.

GE HealthCare and RadNet’s subsidiary DeepHealth have partnered to drive AI-powered innovation in imaging technology, with a focus on advancing breast cancer screening and diagnostics.

This partnership brings together GE HealthCare’s established imaging systems with DeepHealth’s AI health informatics to create AI-enabled solutions, specifically the SmartMammo system.

SmartMammo is set to integrate with GE HealthCare’s Senographe Pristina mammography system, optimising breast cancer screening with features designed to improve diagnostic accuracy and enhance workflow efficiency.

Kees Wesdorp, President and CEO of RadNet's Digital Health division, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to collaborate with GE HealthCare to accelerate the adoption of AI-powered technologies in radiology. By combining our cloud-native operating system, DeepHealth OS, and our AI-powered health informatics with GE HealthCare’s imaging technology, we are poised to streamline radiology workflows and improve patient outcomes. This collaboration aims to empower healthcare providers with the tools they need to deliver more effective and personalised care at scale.”

SmartMammo Integration with Senographe Pristina

The initial phase of this collaboration will integrate DeepHealth's AI-based SmartMammo with GE HealthCare’s Senographe Pristina mammography system.

Designed with patient comfort in mind, Senographe Pristina features an approachable setup to reduce patient anxiety and streamline imaging processes.

SmartMammo’s capabilities include automated lesion detection, image prioritisation by suspicion level, and a suite of AI detection tools for enhanced accuracy in diverse breast tissue types.

Its cloud-native design enables access from any location, streamlining the workflow for radiologists and facilitating integration with existing diagnostic tools and healthcare IT systems.

SmartMammo aims to support large-scale breast cancer screening, bringing AI-driven insights into radiology practices with faster and more precise image interpretation.

DeepHealth also plans to introduce a "Smart Alerts" feature, which will rapidly process imaging data to flag potentially suspicious lesions. This solution intends to improve diagnostic timelines, enabling same-day exams for cases flagged as high risk.

Commenting on the goals of Smart Alerts, Wesdorp added, “We see this feature as a way to reduce anxiety for patients with suspicious findings and enhance follow-up compliance.”

Roland Rott, President and CEO of GE HealthCare’s Imaging division, commented on the collaboration's potential impact, stating, “GE HealthCare has a legacy of imaging and AI innovation and is committed to our continued pursuit of new technologies that push the boundaries of what is possible to enable precision care. This new collaboration with DeepHealth harnesses our combined strengths to address critical challenges in healthcare today. AI continues to show great promise in breast cancer screening from early detection to reduced callbacks, and we are excited to bring the power of imaging and AI together to elevate personalised breast care for those facing this difficult diagnosis.”

Through this agreement, GE HealthCare will be able to distribute SmartMammo and related DeepHealth solutions across the United States.

Moving forward, the two companies plan to explore AI-driven advancements in other imaging modalities, expanding the SmartTechnology portfolio to streamline and enhance imaging processes across clinical domains.
