Nuffield Health will gain access to GE HealthCare’s AI-powered systems, designed to assist clinicians in delivering faster and more precise diagnoses.
GE HealthCare has entered a £200 million ($246.6 million) long-term partnership with Nuffield Health to enhance diagnostic imaging services across its hospitals in the UK.
The collaboration aims to improve healthcare efficiency through AI-enabled imaging systems while promoting sustainable healthcare practices.
As part of the 20-year Managed Equipment Service (MES) agreement, GE HealthCare will oversee the installation, acquisition, maintenance, and training related to medical technology at Nuffield Health facilities.
The agreement includes the delivery of over 100 medical devices in 2024, with a total of 800 pieces of imaging and diagnostic equipment expected to be deployed over the partnership’s duration.
The equipment will cover ultrasound, surgical, X-ray, and other imaging technologies to support advanced diagnostics.
Nuffield Health will gain access to GE HealthCare’s AI-powered systems, designed to assist clinicians in delivering faster and more precise diagnoses.
This will help patients receive critical health information in a timely manner, improving overall healthcare outcomes.
Simon McGuire, President of GE HealthCare’s Northern & Eastern Europe Zone, highlighted the significance of the collaboration, saying "This long-term partnership marks a major milestone for GE HealthCare in the UK’s independent sector. Our goal is to support Nuffield Health’s clinical teams with advanced imaging technologies to enhance patient care and meet growing demand."
Nuffield Health also worked with GE HealthCare’s Financial Services team on technology budgeting, financing, and risk-sharing strategies.
This agreement builds upon a 2017 multi-vendor servicing agreement, under which GE HealthCare managed Nuffield Health’s technology assets.
The partnership follows GE HealthCare’s recent collaboration with the University of California, San Francisco, where they launched the Care Innovation Hub—a research initiative focused on advancing medical imaging technologies.
