Fujifilm Partners with Us2.ai for AI-Automated Echocardiography Analysis

The collaboration aims to provide cardiologists and sonographers with automated cardiac measurements and echocardiogram analysis, addressing workflow challenges in diagnosing heart disease.

Fujifilm Healthcare Americas Corporation has partnered with Us2.ai to integrate AI-powered echocardiography analysis into its LISENDO 800 cardiovascular ultrasound system.

The collaboration aims to provide cardiologists and sonographers with automated cardiac measurements and echocardiogram analysis, addressing workflow challenges in diagnosing heart disease.

“Echo images are the gold standard for non-invasive cardiac imaging; however, the average time to complete an exam can take anywhere from 40 to 90 minutes, plus reporting time,” said Hideyuki Honda, Vice President of ultrasound Business Unit and Business Development, FUJIFILM Healthcare Americas Corporation.

Addressing Workforce Shortages in Echocardiography

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the leading cause of mortality worldwide, making echocardiography a crucial tool for non-invasive cardiac imaging. However, traditional echocardiographic procedures require highly trained professionals and are time-consuming, leading to workforce shortages.

Us2.ai’s AI-driven software is designed to streamline the process by automating image analysis and reporting. According to studies published in the Journal of Echocardiography, the software has demonstrated a 70% reduction in measurement and report creation time compared to manual methods.

AI-Powered Workflow for Echocardiography

The AI-powered Us2.ai software automates measurement, identifying heart chambers and calculating clinically significant parameters. This eliminates the need for manual measurements, allowing for faster and standardized reporting based on international guidelines.
