Paras Health appointed UP Singh, a distinguished veteran of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), as an Independent Director on its Board, leveraging his 37 years of experience in governance, policy formulation, and strategic management.
Singh's extensive background in public sector enterprises, including significant roles in Maharatna and Navratna companies, positions him to provide critical oversight and direction for Paras Health.
Expressing enthusiasm, the newly appointed independent director Singh, said, "I am pleased to join Paras Health as an Independent Director and look forward to leveraging my extensive experience to contribute to the healthcare sector. According to Paras Health, it aims to leverage Singh’s expertise to advance its mission of delivering top-tier healthcare services. His vast experience in public administration and strategic oversight are crucial assets in enhancing the hospital’s operational framework, the healthcare organization noted.

Since 2006, Paras Health has focused on providing affordable, accessible, and high-quality healthcare services to underserved communities in India. Paras Health operates multi-specialty facilities in cities such as Gurgaon, Patna, Darbhanga, Udaipur, Panchkula, Ranchi, Srinagar, and Kanpur, to expand to over 9,100 beds by 2031.
Singh retired as Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Textiles, in October 2022. His leadership saw the implementation of initiatives such as the PLI Scheme for Textiles and PM-MITRA Park, contributing to record-high textile exports.
Before this, he served as secretary to the Department of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation, leading key initiatives such as Namami Gange, Jal Jeevan Mission, and Swachh Bharat Mission-II.
Moreover, Singh’s appointment aligns with Paras Health’s goals of advancing patient care and operational efficiency.
Singh’s strategic vision and governance skills are expected to bolster Paras Health’s efforts to provide quality healthcare.
