Available on the Fitterfly Metabolic Health app, JEDi's modules will also serve as plug-and-play solutions for corporates aiming to support employee wellness. The potential applications extend to patient support programs and value-based services offered by insurance companies.

Healthtech company Fitterfly has launched an AI-enabled conversational coaching system called JEDi, specifically designed to address the growing healthcare challenges in India.

JEDi, developed by Fitterfly's X-labs Innovation team, is a state-of-the-art empathetic conversational coaching AI. It operates on a hybrid architecture, combining rule-based Natural Language Processing (NLP) on an Expert system foundation with large language models. Unlike traditional approaches, JEDi stands out for its empathetic and nuanced personality, prioritising patient care and outcomes.

The newly launched AI technology assists users in managing nutrition, fitness, and overall well-being through a structured 28-day regimen presented as a game. It further analyses user responses, health data, and preferences to offer customised advice and nudges towards healthier habits.

Highlighting the significance of JEDi, Shailesh Gupta, COO, & cofounder of Fitterfly, said, "JEDi is the first product from Fitterfly's Innovation Lab and demonstrates our strong belief in utilising AI in Digital Therapeutics for better patient outcomes."

Available on the Fitterfly Metabolic Health app, JEDi's modules will also serve as plug-and-play solutions for corporates aiming to support employee wellness. The potential applications extend to patient support programs and value-based services offered by insurance companies.

The integration of JEDi with healthcare systems aims to provide data-driven insights, empowering patient self-management and contributing to cost-efficient healthcare. Fitterfly envisions JEDi as a crucial player in reducing the diabetes burden in India.

As of 2021, it is estimated that over 101 million people in India are living with diabetes. While around 130 million are at high risk and could be living with pre-diabetes.

Founded by Dr Arbinder Singal and Shailesh Gupta, Fitterfly is a digital therapeutic program that offers outcome-focused treatment for diabetes, obesity, and heart disease.

This move follows Fitterfly's launch of its new division, X-Labs in July 2023 which focuses on digital therapeutics and leverages AI and Human-centred Design to revolutionise chronic disease management.

The company's unique care continuum model, incorporating dedicated nutritionists, physiotherapists, and psychologists, has already shown promising outcomes for individuals battling diabetes and obesity.
