Fischer Medical Ventures has joined hands with its subsidiaries, DigiHealth Specialists and RiteMED Philippines to bolster the Philippines' Universal Health Care (UHC) program.
This partnership aims to leverage advanced digital healthcare technology to improve the accessibility and affordability of primary healthcare in the country.
Additionally, this partnership supports the Philippine government's UHC program by addressing the healthcare needs of remote areas where access remains a significant challenge. DigiHealth’s technology will help bridge the gap in affordable quality healthcare through extensive primary care screening.
Ravindran Govindan, executive chairman & MD, Fischer said, “Our digital healthcare landscape with our proprietary multispectral diagnostic intelligent platform developed in-house that allows any medical modality to connect to our AI diagnostic platform, to offer high-quality yet affordable healthcare to Filipinos. We consider this partnership with RiteMED a significant milestone in the country's healthcare industry."
DigiHealth, a subsidiary of Fischer Medical Ventures, introduced its Automated Telehealth Machine (ATM) as a key component of the collaboration. The ATM is a comprehensive health screening device capable of diagnostics on over 60 clinical parameters in just seven minutes.
These parameters include basic vital signs, BMI calculations, sugar levels, hemoglobin, cholesterol, vision tests, rapid tests for infectious diseases, mental health assessments, and ECGs.
Results from these tests are consolidated into the patient’s Electronic Health Record, making complex health data easily accessible and understandable.
Sharing insights, Joyce Socao, MD and CEO of DigiHealth, said, “DigiHealth ATM health kiosk is ready to be introduced to RiteMED pharmacies across the Philippines, supported by real-time analytics and electronic health records, particularly focusing on underserved provinces. On a national level, Digihealth targets to sell at least 10,000 units to reach out to the target population, especially the geographically isolated and disadvantaged communities, in support of the Universal Health Care that is being implemented in the country this year.”
RiteMED, established in 2002 by United Laboratories Inc (Unilab), is a leading generic medicine provider in the Philippines. The collaboration with DigiHealth aims to place ATMs in areas with limited access to quality healthcare.
The ATMs will simplify doctor consultations and laboratory procedures, providing budget-friendly, high-quality medicine.
The machine's results can be displayed directly on WhatsApp or printed, accompanied by personalized lifestyle and dietary recommendations. Integrating teleconsultation with registered doctors ensures speedy and clear diagnoses and medical prescriptions.
Recently, Fischer Medical Ventures invested in Singapore-based Wonder Tech Group (Wonder Tech), which aims to transform the mental healthcare landscape with advanced AI technologies. The investment amount remains undisclosed, but the company plans to leverage Wonder Tech's pioneering voice-based diagnostic platform to enhance mental health diagnostics and treatment across various markets.
Fischer Medical Ventures offers cost-efficient, high-quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) systems produced through its subsidiary, Time Medical International Ventures India. The company claims to have established itself as a leader in India's indigenous manufacturing of advanced medical imaging equipment.
Beyond medical imaging, Fischer MVL is actively investing and partnering with a diverse portfolio of diagnostic solutions, with a significant focus on mental health.
