This collaboration aims to offer tailored senior care solutions to Aditya Birla Health Insurance's corporate clients and group mediclaim policyholders.

In a bid to bolster eldercare services across the nation, Gurgaon-based Emoha, a personalized elder care service provider, has joined forces with Aditya Birla Health Insurance.

This collaboration aims to offer tailored senior care solutions to Aditya Birla Health Insurance's corporate clients and group mediclaim policyholders, expanding Emoha's reach to a broader audience.

Through this collaboration, Emoha seeks to extend its services, emphasizing the importance of independence and dignity for the elderly population.

Speaking on the development, Soumyajit Roy, cofounder and CEO of Emoha, said, "Through our strategic partnership with Aditya Birla Health Insurance, we aim to significantly expand our reach and offerings for the elderly across India. This collaboration will ensure holistic care for seniors' emotional, physical, and financial well-being."

Emoha views this partnership as a notable advancement in reshaping eldercare in India.

The Partnership Goals

Group mediclaim policies often exclude coverage for employees' parents, leaving a crucial gap in healthcare coverage for senior citizens.

Emoha and Aditya Birla Health Insurance aim to bridge this gap by extending personalized care solutions to group mediclaim policyholders.

Talking about the partnership, Mayank Bathwal, CEO of Aditya Birla Health Insurance, said, "Combining Emoha's tech-driven personalized care model with our comprehensive health insurance solutions, we aim to elevate the standard of elderly care and ensure holistic coverage for the entire family."

Emoha's mission to empower seniors to live independently aligns with its goal of supporting working generations in providing optimal care for their loved ones.

Pankaj Arora, chief growth officer of Emoha, emphasized the importance of addressing the stress faced by young adults in balancing work and caregiving responsibilities.

"By partnering with corporations, we offer tailored eldercare solutions, empowering employees with peace of mind to focus on their careers and personal lives," Arora said.

Advancements in Elder Healthcare Services

In addition to the partnership between Emoha and Aditya Birla Health Insurance, the healthcare sector is witnessing other notable initiatives enhancing elder care services.

For example, Chennai-based Geri Care recently unveiled a dedicated cath lab for senior citizens at its multi-specialty hospital in Adambakkam, Chennai.

The facility, equipped with advanced diagnostic imaging technology, offers a wide range of tests and procedures, including ablation, angiogram, angioplasty, and pacemaker/ICD implantation.

The increasing attention on extending elder care and especially insurance coverage to senior citizens has come in the wake of recent announcements made by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).

IRDAI recently lifted the age restriction for health insurance coverage of senior citizens. Previously, individuals faced restrictions on purchasing new health insurance policies once they reached 65 years of age. However, effective April 01, 2024, the IRDAI removed this age barrier, allowing individuals of any age to purchase new health insurance policies without limitations.

This move marks a notable shift in health insurance policy dynamics, offering increased accessibility to healthcare coverage for individuals across all age groups.
