Apollo Hospitals, a leading integrated healthcare provider, has appointed Dr Madhu Sasidhar as the president and CEO of its hospital division, signaling a significant strategic move within the organization.
Dr Madhu comes with an illustrious background and a wealth of experience in healthcare administration, clinical practice, and technological innovation.
In his new role, Dr Madhu will be tasked with overseeing Apollo's hospital business, with a primary focus on maintaining and further enhancing the institution's commitment to delivering world-class clinical outcomes and patient care experiences.
His appointment comes at a pivotal time for Apollo Hospitals as it seeks to expand its footprint and bolster its reputation as a global leader in healthcare delivery.
Dr Madhu Sasidhar has previously worked with Cleveland Clinic, where he held various leadership positions, including president of Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital.
His background as a practicing physician, coupled with US board certifications in internal medicine, pulmonary, and critical care medicine, provides him with a unique perspective on healthcare delivery and management, Apollo Hospital said in a statement.
Furthermore, Dr Madhu's expertise in big data systems, coupled with his status as a self-taught programmer and inventor of patented technologies, underscores his innovative approach to addressing healthcare challenges, the statement read.
Dr Madhu completed his medical education at JIPMER, Pondicherry, before moving to St Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City for further studies in Internal Medicine.
Commenting on Dr Madhu's appointment, Dr Prathap Chandra Reddy, founder chairman of Apollo Hospitals Group, expressed confidence in his ability to contribute to the organization's mission of delivering world-class care.

Dr Madhu's appointment marks a planned transition within Apollo Hospitals, with outgoing president Dr K Hari Prasad retiring after a distinguished 27-year career with the organization.
