The portal replaces manual processes with a structured digital framework, making it easier for registered ultrasound centers to adhere to regulations.
Delhi's Health and Family Welfare Minister, Dr Pankaj Kumar Singh, has launched the PC&PNDT online portal during a one-day workshop aimed at enhancing the implementation of the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PC&PNDT) Act.
The initiative is designed to digitize and modernize the monitoring of ultrasound facilities, ensuring stricter compliance and preventing unauthorized sex determination practices.
The portal replaces manual processes with a structured digital framework, making it easier for registered ultrasound centers to adhere to regulations.
By leveraging technology, the government seeks to enhance oversight and efficiency in enforcing the Act while addressing concerns related to gender-based discrimination.
Speaking at the launch event at the Delhi Secretariat, Dr Singh reiterated the administration's commitment to protecting the rights of girl children and improving the state's sex ratio.
He highlighted that Delhi's sex ratio had declined from 929 females per 1,000 males in 2022 to 922 in 2023, a figure lower than the national average of 940.
Stressing the need for decisive action, he urged officials to ensure strict enforcement of the law through the new platform.
Dr Singh emphasized that Delhi, as the capital of India, must set an example in eliminating sex-selective practices.
He expressed confidence that the new digital initiative would contribute to improving the sex ratio and strengthening efforts to end gender-based discrimination.
He also assured that all complaints registered on the portal would be addressed with urgency.
The newly launched website, https://pcpndt.delhi.gov.in, provides essential services, including digital submission of Form F for ultrasound centers, a public complaint registration system, and live enforcement tracking.
The initiative aims to make compliance processes more accessible and transparent, which is expected to significantly strengthen regulatory enforcement and promote gender equality in the capital.
