The funding aims to improve access to dialysis treatments for low-income patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD).
DCDC Health Services (DCDC), operating as DCDC Kidney Care, has secured a strategic investment of INR 82 crore from British International Investment (BII), the UK’s development finance institution and impact investor.
The funding aims to improve access to dialysis treatments for low-income patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD).
The Delhi-based healthcare provider plans to use the investment to roll out over 900 dialysis machines across more than 100 centers within the next three years.
This expansion is expected to benefit over 15,000 patients, primarily from underserved communities while creating around 1,000 direct jobs.
Aseem Garg, Founder and CEO of DCDC, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, saying, “This investment will allow us to expand our centers, particularly in South India, focusing on Karnataka and Telangana. We remain committed to delivering high-quality, affordable dialysis treatments.”
Founded in 2009 by Aseem and Akshat Garg, DCDC Kidney Care operates over 190 clinics nationwide.
The organization leverages public-private partnerships (PPP) with state governments to provide cost-effective dialysis treatments, often covered under public health insurance schemes.
These initiatives aim to ensure equitable access to healthcare for economically disadvantaged sections of society.
India faces a growing burden of ESRD, with over one million patients requiring regular dialysis.
High costs, limited access, and inconsistent quality disproportionately impact low-income families, forcing many to forgo treatment or face financial distress.
Highlighting the importance of the partnership, Srini Nagarajan, Managing Director and Head of Asia for BII, said, “Improving inclusion for economically disadvantaged groups, including access to quality, affordable healthcare, is a key priority for BII in India. This investment will enable DCDC to provide life-saving dialysis treatments in partnership with the government, especially in remote areas.”
Through this initiative, DCDC aims to bridge the gap in dialysis care, ensuring that quality treatment reaches those who need it the most.
