CM Yogi urged the fast-tracking of procedures to ensure more eligible citizens benefit from the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently reiterated the Uttar Pradesh government's commitment to improving healthcare services, focusing on distributing Ayushman cards to citizens aged 70 and above and further expanding the state's medical infrastructure.
At a review meeting with officials from the medical health departments, family welfare, and medical education, CM Yogi urged the fast-tracking of procedures to ensure more eligible citizens benefit from the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
The CM highlighted the government's dedication to aligning with PM Modi's vision of healthcare access for all. He emphasized that swift action was required to reach the intended beneficiaries of the health scheme.
CM Adityanath also underlined the significant progress made in the state's healthcare system, stating that medical colleges now cover 64 districts, with plans to bring similar facilities to the remaining districts soon.
Reflecting on past efforts, the CM recalled the state's campaign launched in 2017 to control the spread of communicable diseases such as dengue, malaria, encephalitis, kala-azar, and chikungunya.
He also praised the success of this initiative, which now runs annually in April, July, and October. With the upcoming two months posing heightened risks for disease outbreaks, Yogi emphasized the need for continuous public education and preventive measures.
He also confirmed that blood banks and separation units would remain fully operational, and the ongoing cleanliness drive, which runs until October 2, would further promote hygiene.
The Chief Minister announced the establishment of a satellite center of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Ghaziabad, urging officials to expedite the necessary processes.
He also pushed for the accelerated construction of the King George's Medical University (KGMU) satellite center in Balrampur to further strengthen healthcare accessibility in the region.
Yogi Adityanath directed medical institutions, including colleges, district hospitals, community health centers, and primary health centers, to maintain cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
He called on doctors, paramedical staff, and other personnel to uphold accountability, ensuring the public benefits from the government's healthcare initiatives.
Further, the CM highlighted the need for improved emergency care, urging better performance of the 102 and 108 ambulance services and ensuring robust security in hospitals.
He also stressed the importance of speeding up the recruitment process for principals, doctors, and support staff in both the health and education sectors.
Attracting specialist doctors with competitive salaries and favorable working conditions, in line with institutional standards, was emphasized.
In recognition of the good performance of private hospitals, Yogi suggested extending their registration period from three to five years.
Additionally, he instructed medical colleges to create a corpus fund dedicated to the maintenance of essential equipment such as X-ray machines, MRI and ultrasound machines, CT scanners, and lifts.
He also recommended utilizing the experience gained by health volunteers during the COVID-19 pandemic to enhance current and future healthcare initiatives.
