At the launch event, CM Sharma stressed that "Healthy Rajasthan" can be realized only when every citizen enjoys good health.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma has recently launched three major health campaigns in Rajasthan, aiming to significantly improve the state's public health.
The initiatives include the National Pulse Polio Campaign, the Chief Minister Stop Diarrhea Campaign 2024, and the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) IDs Creation Campaign.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the CM’s residence, and health minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar was also in attendance.
At the launch event, CM Sharma emphasized the vision of "Healthy Rajasthan," stating that the goal can only be achieved when every citizen in the state enjoys good health.
The National Pulse Polio Campaign aims to administer polio drops to approximately 1.07 Cr (10.7 million) children under the age of five across 50 districts in Rajasthan.
To facilitate this, over 61,500 booths have been established throughout the state. The campaign's kickoff saw CM Sharma personally administering polio drops to children.
According to a statement from the health department, the campaign will extend over the next two days. During this time, healthcare workers will visit homes to ensure every eligible child receives the vaccine.
Further, this door-to-door approach is designed to maximize coverage and ensure that no child is left unvaccinated.
Alongside the polio initiative, the CM also inaugurated the Stop Diarrhea Campaign, which will run from July 1 to August 31.
This campaign will involve medical personnel visiting homes to provide guidance and distribute medicines to prevent diarrhea-related illnesses in children.
Additional chief secretary of the Medical and Health Department, Shubhra Singh, highlighted the importance of the campaign, stating, "This initiative is crucial for preventing common but potentially severe health issues in children, thereby improving their overall health and well-being."
The third initiative, the ABHA ID Creation Campaign, is a part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. The campaign aims to create ABHA IDs for all residents, facilitating better access to healthcare services.
The ABHA ID is a unique 14-digit identification number linked to a citizen's Aadhaar or mobile number. This ID allows for the digital storage and accessibility of health information, including consultations, medical records, and prescriptions.
CM Sharma and health minister Khinvsar marked the launch by distributing ABHA ID cards to beneficiaries. They also handed out Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) packets and zinc tablets to children, underscoring the importance of proactive health measures.
Additionally, the CM directed officials to ensure that every newborn in the state receives a unique health ID soon after birth. This ID will record all future health-related information, streamlining medical care and reducing unnecessary health expenditures.
Sharma emphasized the benefits of digital healthcare integration, noting that accessible online health records will enable faster and better medical care, ultimately reducing health test and medication costs.
