Boehringer Ingelheim India has partnered with RED.Health to strengthen emergency pre-hospital stroke care in the country.
The agreement, signed through Boehringer Ingelheim's Angels Initiative, focuses on faster response times, advanced training, and standardized medical protocols to improve patient outcomes.
“The collaboration with RED.Health Ambulance Services strengthens emergency stroke care and ensuring every patient receives rapid, high-quality assistance. Together, we are building a healthcare system that puts patients at the heart of healthcare and raise hope for families across India, said Gagandeep Singh Bedi, Managing Director, Boehringer Ingelheim India.
The partnership was announced ahead of World Stroke Day, addressing the growing prevalence of stroke, now the fourth leading cause of death and fifth leading cause of disability in India.
Delays in treatment often result in patients missing the critical “golden period” of 4.5 hours, significantly reducing recovery chances.
According to the company, RED.Health teams will adopt formal stroke protocols, including the FAST (Face, Arm, Speech, Time) scale for early detection during ambulance transport.
Further, the Angels Initiative will provide advanced stroke life support training and certifications at no financial cost to RED.Health.
“Stroke impacts over 1.9 million people across India annually, and timely intervention is crucial for saving lives and improving outcomes. At RED.Health, we are committed to delivering fast, reliable, and compassionate emergency care when it matters most. Partnering with Boehringer Ingelheim enhances our ability to respond swiftly and effectively to stroke cases nationwide. This MoU represents a significant step in empowering our emergency response teams with advanced training and protocols, reaffirming our dedication to elevating emergency medical services and extending vital, life-saving support to communities across the country,” Prabhdeep Singh, Founder and CEO of RED.Health, added.
The MoU also enables RED.Health to participate in the EMS Angels Awards, monitoring quality through a stroke patient registry. The partnership aims to strengthen India’s stroke care ecosystem, improve emergency response, and save lives across the country.
