The collaboration seeks to leverage blockchain technology to ensure the security, transparency, and tamper-proof nature of clinical trial data, thus upholding the integrity of research outcomes.

Mumbai-based Blockchain startup Qila.io has partnered with global clinical research center Mascot Spincontrol to bolster transparency and integrity in clinical research significantly.

The partnership seeks to leverage blockchain technology to ensure the security, transparency, and tamper-proof nature of clinical trial data.

The move comes when the healthcare industry faces mounting regulatory scrutiny over privacy concerns and data integrity in clinical trials.

By integrating blockchain technology into clinical research processes, the collaboration aims to enhance transparency, fortify data security, and instill greater confidence among stakeholders.

Commenting on the collaboration, Sid Ugrankar, founder, Qila.io, said, "The synergies between Mascot Spincontrol and Qila.io are significant. By combining Mascot's clinical research capabilities with Qila's blockchain expertise, we create a powerful synergy that addresses critical industry challenges and drives innovation in healthcare research."

Joint Projects & Future Endeavours

As part of the collaboration, Mascot Spincontrol and Qila.io will work on several joint projects in the coming months.

These initiatives include implementing blockchain tokenization solutions for clinical research data sharing and conducting pilot programs to demonstrate the effectiveness of blockchain technology in enhancing data integrity and transparency in clinical trials.

Dr Mohit Lalvani, MD and founder of Mascot Spincontrol, highlighted the potential of blockchain deployment in improving the transparency and integrity of clinical trial results.

He said, "Blockchain deployment will improve the transparency and integrity of clinical trial results. The clinical data results would be irreversible and build great faith in brands’ promise."

Qila.io's Blockchain Solutions

Founded in 2022 by Vishal A Malhotra and Siddharth Ugrankar, Qila.io is a blockchain platform aimed at helping enterprises achieve their blockchain adoption goals. Per the website of the startup, they offer blockchain solutions, particularly in tokenization, to provide decentralized control and transparency to users.

Qila.io recently unveiled a Blockchain-As-A-Service (BaaS) platform to transform enterprise operations. The platform features solutions including PrivaSea and GoTrust, focusing on secure identity data storage using blockchain technology.

Sharing insights, Sid Ugrankar, cofounder & CEO of Qila.io, said their offerings facilitate real-world asset tokenization, ensuring data ownership remains exclusively with the customer.

He said, "Once a company signs up, they can integrate using the API and begin pushing data to the blockchain."

Qila's BaaS platform aims to address the challenge of setting up and managing dedicated blockchain networks, thereby promoting data ownership and security in enterprise operations.

By providing a secure and unmodifiable data environment, Qila.io aims to empower businesses to harness blockchain technology's potential while ensuring their data's integrity and security.
