In a LinkedIn post, Professor Agrawal noted that a paramedic team accompanied the patient and efficiently handed over their care, with a nurse acting as the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

A professor at AIIMS Delhi has commended Blinkit's 10-minute ambulance service, highlighting its potential to transform emergency healthcare in India.

Professor Deepak Agrawal, from the Neurosurgery Department at AIIMS, described the initiative as a step towards advanced emergency medical care, similar to services available in developed countries.

In a LinkedIn post, Professor Agrawal shared his experience with the service when the AIIMS Trauma Centre received a patient transported by a Blinkit ambulance.

He noted that a paramedic team accompanied the patient and efficiently handed over their care, with a nurse acting as the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

The ambulance provided basic life support before reaching the hospital, including C-spine stabilization using a hard cervical collar, suctioning for excessive secretions, and a Non-Rebreather Mask (NRBM) for patients with low oxygen saturation.

He described the initiative as a long-awaited healthcare development in India.

Blinkit's 10-Min Ambulance Service

On January 2, Blinkit, a quick-commerce platform, introduced its 'ambulance in 10 minutes' service to enhance emergency medical access. The service launched with five ambulances in Gurugram and will expand to more locations.

Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa stated that users will soon be able to book a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance directly through the Blinkit app.

The ambulances have essential emergency medical equipment, including oxygen cylinders, Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), stretchers, monitors, suction machines, and emergency medicines.

Each vehicle is staffed with a paramedic, an assistant, and a trained driver to ensure timely and high-quality emergency care.

Blinkit, owned by Eternals (formerly Zomato), has expanded its offerings beyond grocery and essentials delivery.

Acquired by Zomato in 2021, Blinkit continues to broaden its services, now venturing into emergency healthcare with its rapid-response ambulance service.
