Blaze.tech Secures $8.5 Mn Pre-Seed Funding to Accelerate AI-Powered Healthcare App Development

Blaze.tech enables healthcare teams to build production-ready, HIPAA-compliant applications rapidly.

LA-based healthcare software startup Blaze.tech has secured $8.5 Mn in pre-seed funding to expand its AI-powered healthcare application platform, with Friale, a newly launched healthcare and AI venture firm, making its first-ever investment through the round.

The fresh capital is expected to strengthen Blaze.tech’s healthcare-focused product capabilities, deepen integrations with healthcare systems, and support growing customer demand.

The investment adds $5 Mn to Blaze.tech’s earlier pre-seed capital, bringing the startup's total pre-seed funding to $8.5 Mn.

Blaze.tech becomes the inaugural investment for Friale, whose founders, Bryan Frist and Nick Alexander, bring extensive healthcare experience through the Frist family's longstanding association with HCA Healthcare, one of the largest hospital operators in the United States.

According to Blaze.tech, its platform enables healthcare organizations to build AI-powered patient portals, scheduling systems, billing solutions, custom electronic medical records, prescribing workflows, and clinical applications without traditional software development timelines.

The platform also supports structured databases, workflow automation, EHR connectivity, and nationwide e-prescribing while maintaining enterprise-grade compliance standards.

"Every week, we see someone build a prototype with AI, demo it to a customer, and then hit a wall because the app isn't connected to systems healthcare runs on and doesn't have the compliance that real patient data demands. We built Blaze for that last mile—production apps that handle real patient data, write back into EHRs, and send prescriptions nationwide."

The startup says healthcare providers ranging from individual physicians to Fortune 500 organizations already use its platform to create customized digital solutions tailored to their operational requirements.

Blaze.tech also states that it is SOC 2 Type II certified and holds HITRUST e1 certification, alongside business associate agreements, audit trails, native e-prescribing capabilities, and EHR integrations.
