The approach integrates advanced algorithms to analyse complex health data and offer personalised recommendations for individuals.'¯ One of the notable aspects of the computational approach is its ability to predict diseases and health complications with a higher accuracy rate than traditional diagnostic methods.

IIT-M has developed a novel technique that harnesses the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics in partnership with a group of respected researchers and medical specialists. This computational approach is known as MultiCens (Multilayer/Multi-tissue network centrality measures) to comprehend the gene connections that lead to inter-organ communication within the body. All living things require interaction between their organs and tissues to function properly and survive.

One of the notable aspects of the computational approach is its ability to predict diseases and health complications with a higher accuracy rate than traditional diagnostic methods. By leveraging machine learning and deep neural networks, the model can identify subtle patterns and correlations in health data that may be overlooked by conventional approaches.

Dr Ramanathan Sethuraman, healthcare architect and principal engineer at Intel and co-author of this work explained, 'œUnderstanding the molecular pathway for disease manifestation and to identify the causal targets are of prime importance in any disease management. MultiCens is a step in this research direction.'

Cells in different tissues and organs must be able to communicate with one another in order for multicellular life to exist. Although the molecular foundations of such communication have long been explored, there are currently no genome-wide approaches to identify the genes and other macromolecules that regulate tissue-to-tissue signaling.

The computational approach is currently undergoing extensive validation through clinical trials and will soon be integrated into various healthcare facilities across the country. With continuous advancements in technology and data-driven solutions, IIT-M's revolutionary research paves the way for a healthier and more resilient society.

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) has been quite upfront in taking digital healthcare initiatives. Recently, the institute developed a portable and compact digital blood pressure monitor. This will help to easily screen the blood vessels condition in cardiovascular diseases. It is also working to improve the health of scheduled caste people in Andhra Pradesh by developing an IT tool named Grameen Ayurvedic app. This app will help to easily maintain patient data digitally, monitoring of patients and give doctor's appointment.
