BSSS Administrative Officer Shailesh Chandra Diwakar stated that the government is taking fraud cases seriously by strengthening security on the scheme’s portal and prosecuting those involved in malpractice.
The Bihar Swasthya Suraksha Samiti (BSSS) has issued a warning against tampering with beneficiary data under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) health insurance scheme.
BSSS Administrative Officer Shailesh Chandra Diwakar stated that the government is taking fraud cases seriously by strengthening security on the scheme’s portal and prosecuting those involved in malpractice.
Diwakar addressed a one-day training program on the upgraded Transaction Management System (TMS) 2.0, jointly organized by the Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) and BSSS.
Around 100 arogya mitras, doctors, and personnel from private hospitals attended the training.
TMS 2.0 is an improved portal designed to streamline a patient’s hospitalization journey under the AB-PMJAY scheme. ADRI provides technical support for the scheme’s implementation in Bihar.
Diwakar highlighted that TMS 2.0 integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI) to detect fraudulent activities, a feature absent in the earlier version.
He cautioned hospitals against omitting patients’ or attendants’ phone numbers while registering cases, warning that such discrepancies would lead to outright rejection.
Dr. Neeraj Kr Singh, Director of Healthcare at BSSS, informed that a medical committee has been formed to monitor claims strictly. Additionally, Shree Prakash Chandra Jha, IT Manager at BSSS, reported that over 9 lakh IDs have already been created on the national TMS 2.0 portal.
Dr. Arshad Ayub, Senior Medical Officer at BSSS, stressed the importance of transparency in processing claims and ensuring that patients receive the benefits they are entitled to under the scheme.
