Indian technology conglomerate Advance Mechanical Services (AMS-India) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Israel's Xtend AI to co-develop, manufacture, and deploy autonomous robots in hospitals and clinics across Karnataka.

This collaboration is part of a bilateral R&D and manufacturing initiative supported by the Government of Israel and the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM).

Announcing the partnership, Karnataka IT-BT Minister Priyank Kharge highlighted its potential to revolutionize the state's healthcare ecosystem through robotics and digital innovation.

"By leveraging technology and innovation, we are committed to enhancing healthcare accessibility, especially in underserved areas," he said.

He further noted that the collaboration would create high-skilled jobs and reinforce Karnataka's position as a leader in digital health and medical robotics.

Focus on Automation, Telemedicine, & Pandemic Preparedness

Xtend AI CEO Harry Fox emphasized that the company's service robots and telemedicine kiosks could help bridge critical healthcare gaps, improving accessibility and efficiency.

The partnership will also focus on medical training, infection control, and integration with smart urban infrastructure.

As part of this initiative, the delegation met with Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College and Research Institute officials to discuss a pilot project at Bowring Hospital.

The next phase includes launching robotic nurse assistants and telemedicine kiosks across both rural and urban healthcare centers, with plans to scale statewide.
