Additionally, BMind gathers information without any invasive technology and helps users incorporate mindfulness practices into their daily routines or even curb feelings of loneliness through an immersive experience using light, sound, and visuals.

France-based, connected health solution provider, Baracoda has unveiled BMind, the world's first AI-powered smart mirror for mental wellness. It is capable of identifying mood and managing stress.

Built on a new generation smart mirror software from the CareOS platform, BMind provides personalised recommendations and experiences based on a user's mental state.

The smart mirror is powered by Generative AI for conversation and coaching experiences as well as Natural Language Processing (NLP) for sentiment analysis.

It identifies different sentiments and adapts to the user's mood by providing light therapy sessions, and personalised, auto-generated mindfulness exercises such as guided meditation and self-affirmations.

Moreover, BMind utilises Computer Vision and Large Language Models. Other features include gesture recognition and control, voice command and intent recognition using which the smart mirror recognises user intent and displays the right information and activity at the right moment without any effort.

Sharing thoughts, Thomas Serval, CEO, Baracoda, said, "Technology that can monitor for subtle changes in health has the potential of improving the quality of millions of lives. Our mental state exerts a strong effect on our sense of physical well-being. Including mood in our daily wellness check-ins creates a fuller picture that represents a powerful step toward redefining preventative health."

Additionally, BMind gathers information without any invasive technology and helps users incorporate mindfulness practices into their daily routines or even curb feelings of loneliness through an immersive experience using light, sound, and visuals.

Founded in 2011 by Thomas Serval, Matthieu Delporte, and Olivier Giroud, Baracoda specialises in IoT and connected health, delivering innovative platforms for preventative care. Their vision extends beyond simply designing connected objects - they aim to create smart and enduring practices that empower people to take preventative healthcare into their own hands.

In a similar development, Apple launched Vision Pro to treat mental illness. Apple’s Vision Pro is equipped with an array of sensors and cameras to measure users’ facial expressions, feelings and emotions, and detect levels of anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and other forms of stress.

Moreover, its advanced features include the ability to control it with just your hands and eyes, rather than having to use controllers. In addition to mental illness detection, the headset can display images and sounds on an internal screen aimed at alleviating users’ stress, depression or anxiety.
