Additionally, the Ayushman Bhav campaign has resulted in over 20 Lakh ABHA IDs (Health IDs) creation, with more than 20 Lakh people registering at Ayushman Bharat-Health and Wellness Centres and Community Health Centres to benefit from free treatment and screening services.
In just four days since the commencement of the Ayushman Bhav campaign, over five lakh Ayushman Bharat beneficiary cards have been issued, Union Health Secretary Sudhansh Pant said on Thursday.
Furthermore, the campaign has led to the generation of over 20 lakh ABHA IDs (Health IDs), and more than 20 Lakh individuals have registered at Ayushman Bharat-Health and Wellness Centres and Community Health Centres to access free treatment and screening services.
The Ayushman Bhav campaign, inaugurated on September 13 by President Droupadi Murmu, is a comprehensive nationwide healthcare initiative with the goal of providing extensive healthcare services coverage in every village and town across India.
This initiative coincides with the 'Seva Pakhwada' (fortnight of service), which commenced on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday on September 17 and will continue until October 2.
The campaign encompasses three key components:
1. Ayushman - Apke Dwar 3.0: Under this initiative, the government aims to distribute Ayushman cards to eligible beneficiaries enrolled in the PM-JAY scheme, ensuring greater access to essential healthcare services.
2. Ayushman Melas at Health and Wellness Centres (HWC) and Community Health Clinics (CHC): These melas facilitate the issuance of ABHA IDs (Health IDs) and Ayushman Bharat cards. They also provide early diagnosis, comprehensive primary healthcare services, tele-consultation with specialists, and appropriate referrals.
3. Ayushman Sabhas in Every Village and Panchayat: These gatherings will play a pivotal role in distributing Ayushman cards, generating ABHA IDs, and raising awareness about crucial health schemes and conditions, including non-communicable diseases, tuberculosis, sickle cell disease, blood donation, and organ donation drives.
The Ayushman Bhav campaign aligns with the vision of establishing 'Healthy Villages' and 'Healthy Gram Panchayats,' laying the foundation for achieving universal health coverage throughout the country. It aims to bring healthcare services closer to individuals, particularly in rural areas, and enhance healthcare access for millions of beneficiaries.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya stressed the importance of the Ayushman Bhav initiative for all states and Union Territories (UTs). He urged them to organise health camps at healthcare centres annually and encouraged every medical college to hold health camps at the block level. This campaign aims to ensure that patients screened at health fairs can access timely treatment.
The 'Ayushman Bhav' campaign represents an effort to revolutionise healthcare access across India, emphasising equitable coverage for all, regardless of geographical location, with the support of Gram Panchayats, governmental bodies, and local communities.
