The partnership aims to create products catering to chronic conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, weight management, and metabolic disorders.

Avesthagen and Apollo AyurVAID, a division of Kerala First Health Services under the Apollo Hospitals Group, have announced a strategic collaboration to develop scientifically validated medical foods and dietary supplements.

These products, set to be marketed under the joint brand "AvestaAyurVAID," will blend medical nutrition with Ayurvedic principles, addressing the dietary management needs of various diseases and conditions through rigorous medical assessments.

The partnership aims to create products that cater to chronic conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, weight management, and metabolic disorders.

The collaboration will also extend to onco-nutrition, immunity enhancement, cognitive health, and mental well-being, offering a comprehensive approach to modern medical nutrition.

The companies emphasize the importance of stringent scientific and clinical validation to ensure the safety and efficacy of these products.

Combining Ayurveda & Biotechnology

"This first-of-its-kind collaboration merges the precision of Ayurvedic medical science with the strengths of biotechnology, systems biology, and nutrigenomics," said Rajiv Vasudevan, Managing Director and CEO of Apollo AyurVAID.

He highlighted that the partnership would result in personalized health solutions powered by botanical bioactives, providing unique benefits to patients.

Under the agreement, Avesthagen’s subsidiaries, Avesta Nordic Research, and Avesta Good Earth Foods, will handle product manufacturing, while Apollo AyurVAID will oversee marketing.

The development of these innovative plant-based nutritional products will be a collaborative effort between the two entities, with a focus on preventing or alleviating disease conditions, supporting lifestyle management, and enhancing overall health.

“By combining advanced bioactives with Ayurveda, we aim to offer patients more personalized nutrition and effective treatment options. AvestaAyurVAID will develop and commercialize a range of innovative plant-based nutritional products to prevent or alleviate disease conditions, support lifestyle management, and enhance overall health,” said Villoo Morawala Patell, Chairperson and Managing Director of Avesthagen.

In another development in the Ayurveda sector, Dr Ravishankar Polisetty, chief of Poly Scientific Ayurveda (PSA) announced plans to establish smart health cities in Hyderabad, driven by advanced healthcare innovations.

As a representative for the Association of National Green and Climate Councils (ANGCC), he spearheaded the initiative, starting with a manufacturing facility for modern equipment. The project sought to unfold in phases, integrating AI-driven diagnostics, telemedicine, and remote patient monitoring.
