This workshop was part of the larger AIIMS Ankle Foot Course (AAFC 2024) and focused on providing hands-on training for selected ankle and foot orthopedic surgeons.

Auxein Medical, through its Division of Auxein Institute for Surgeons (DAIS), collaborated with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi to conduct the ‘Ankle Foot Cadaver Workshop.’

This workshop was part of the larger AIIMS Ankle Foot Course (AAFC 2024) and focused on providing hands-on training for selected ankle and foot orthopedic surgeons.

The event gathered a panel of national and international faculty to train 18 carefully chosen delegates at five cadaver stations. The specialized training sessions aimed to elevate surgical skills and knowledge in the niche area of ankle and foot orthopedics.

Comprehensive Surgical Training

Orthopedics' ankle and foot branches deal with complex conditions requiring advanced surgical interventions.

The AAFC 2024 workshop aimed to bridge the theoretical knowledge and practical expertise gap. It was designed to offer high-level training for surgeons already focused on this specialized field.

The expert panel included renowned figures including Prof Ravi Mittal, Prof Kamran Farooque, Prof Vijay Sharma, Dr Ali F Abu-lobbad, Dr Vijay Kumar D, Dr Kamal Dureja, Dr Abhishek Jain, Dr Samarth Mittal, Dr Sandeep Patel, Dr Hitin Mathur, Dr Sidhartha Sharma, Dr Rahul Upadhyay, and Dr Ankit Khurana.

These experts provided detailed insights into modern surgical procedures related to the ankle and foot, reinforcing DAIS’s commitment to advancing medical research and surgical proficiency.

"DAIS is proud to partner with AIIMS, New Delhi, and The Indian Foot and Ankle Society (IFAS) for organizing this ‘Ankle Foot Cadaver Workshop’ as part of the AIIMS Ankle Foot Course (AAFC 2024)," said Rahul Luthra, Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing at Auxein Medical.

Focus on Cadaver-Based Learning

Cadaver-based workshops provide hands-on experience, essential for honing complex surgical techniques. The five cadaver stations allowed each delegate to practice real-life surgical scenarios under the supervision of senior orthopedic surgeons.

The delegates, carefully selected based on their specialization and experience, were trained to address intricate ankle and foot conditions, enhancing their ability to tackle challenging cases. This experience underscored the workshop’s emphasis on skill development in orthopedics.

Participants benefited from direct interaction with seasoned surgeons and exposure to cutting-edge techniques. Such workshops are crucial in advancing the medical field, particularly in super-specialized areas like foot and ankle surgery.

The program aimed to create a platform for sharing knowledge and best practices by bringing together experts from across the globe, including India. This partnership reflects the importance of continuous medical education, particularly for areas requiring surgical precision and expertise.

The workshop aligns with Auxein Medical’s broader vision of supporting the growth of surgical talent and advancing medical research in India. Through initiatives like DAIS, Auxein Medical continues to drive innovation and enhance the quality of care in specialized medical fields.
