Aster DM Healthcare plans to expand its Tele-ICU services by partnering with small and medium-sized hospitals in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across India.
Aster DM Healthcare has announced the official launch of its Tele-ICU services under the Aster Connected Care division.
This Tele-ICU service leverages advanced technology to provide comprehensive support to healthcare providers, particularly in remote and underserved areas, significantly enhancing the quality of patient care across the country.
The Aster Connected Care Tele-ICU services are designed to offer critical care support through access to expert intensivists and continuous ICU monitoring by qualified critical care staff.
Key features of the service include 24/7 audio-visual communication, rapid response alerts, regular virtual rounds, and support and counseling for patients and their families.
This data-driven clinical decision-making approach ensures that patients receive optimal care and improved treatment outcomes, regardless of their location.
Dr Harsha Rajaram, CEO of Aster Digital Health, highlighted the transformative potential of the service, stating, “The potential of digital technology is boundless. Aster Tele-ICU brings global standards of critical care through its experienced intensivists and critical care nurses by leveraging technology. Our services span various geographies and time zones, acting as a second eye to on-ground teams, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.”
The Tele-ICU services, which had a soft launch four months ago, have already provided critical care support to over 250 patients in remote villages across states such as Bihar and Karnataka.
This early success demonstrates the effectiveness and significance of the service in delivering high-quality care to areas where such expertise is often lacking.
Aster DM Healthcare plans to expand its Tele-ICU services by partnering with small and medium-sized hospitals in Tier-II and III cities across India.
The expansion will follow a hub-and-spoke model, with Aster’s skilled manpower and secure technology platform serving as the backbone for delivering critical care services to regions that currently lack specialized medical expertise.
In another development, Aster DM Healthcare and Care Hospitals are reportedly on the verge of a strategic merger that promises to reshape the Indian healthcare landscape.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the merger is expected to create a new entity, likely named Aster DM Quality Care, structured as a 50:50 share swap between Aster DM Healthcare and Care Hospitals, pending approval by the National Company Law Tribunal.
The new entity will benefit from a broad network of hospitals and clinics, expanding its geographical reach and service offerings.
