The third Future of Health Summit, an exclusive, invite-only event hosted by Arab Health will be held at the Museum of Future on Thursday, February 1. The event will bring together senior government officials and CEOs operating within the healthcare sector.
Global industry leaders, scientists, and medical experts will converge at the summit to discuss groundbreaking developments in reverse ageing and longevity, with the aim of transforming the human health span.
According to the UN World Population Prospects report, the global population of those aged 65 and above may potentially rise 16% by 2050 which is a 10% increase from 2022.
Moreover, recent years have witnessed an upward momentum in human longevity research using cutting-edge methods to slow or even reverse the ageing process and enhance well-being.
The global longevity and anti-ageing market is also expected to surge to $183 billion by 2028. UAE’s Social Cohesion Strategy as outlined in its 2021 Vision and Centennial Plan 2071, integrates positive ageing in alignment with its demographic shifts.
In the past few years, there has been a diverse demographic shift in the UAE and initiatives including the Golden Visa Programme, attracting an older population, underscore the need for an adaptive ecosystem. The Future of Health Summit aims to address these challenges by fostering conversation between stakeholders.
Ross Williams, exhibition director, Informa Markets, said that the UAE and the wider Gulf region are aiming to increase the average lifespan of the population. “Future Health Summit will enable the experts in the field to gather under one roof to understand the latest developments, technologies and key players that are invested in bringing this vision to reality,” he said.
The Future Health Summit agenda will encourage discussion around "Bridging the Gap Between Lifespan and Healthspan." It will feature Dr Mehmood Khan, CEO, Hevolution Foundation, Riyadh, KSA.
The opening remarks at the event will be delivered by Shaista Asif, Group CEO, PureHealth, the largest healthcare platform in the Middle East and Arab Health's National Healthcare Champion. Asif will delve into the science of longevity, unveiling innovative strategies for longer, healthier lives.
Highlighting the broadening global interest in the science of longevity, Asif said, “Healthcare today is not just about technological development or medical advancement…modern healthcare is about unlocking time for humankind.”
Asif further noted that the Future Health Summit provides a vital platform for exploring breakthroughs and addressing barriers in the science of longevity.
World-renowned experts including Dr Yoshiki Sawa, Prof Evelyne Bischof, and Marc P Bernegger will come together to discuss, "The Longevity Economy: Navigating the Next Frontier".
Whereas Dr Michael Ringel, MD, Boston Consulting Group, will share valuable insights on "The Opportunity for Investment in Longevity Biotech,". Dr Fatima Al Kaabi, director general, Emirates Drug Establishment, will provide closing remarks.
