Apollo Adlux Hospital Unveils Advanced Stroke Clinic in Kerala

The advanced clinic is an expansion of the Neurology Department that offers a range of services including a dedicated 24/7 emergency hotline (1066), comprehensive diagnostics encompassing CT/CTA/CT perfusion, MR/MRA, cerebral angiogram, and 3D rotational angiogram.

Apollo Adlux Hospital, a renowned multi-speciality hospital in Kerala, has launched its advanced and comprehensive stroke clinic at Angamaly. This move aligns with Apollo Adlux's aim to offer advanced medical care with a specialised management team.

The newly launched clinic is strategically designed to provide stroke patients speedy access to a high-speciality hospital with a dedicated team of neurologists, neurosurgeons, and emergency medicine specialists.

Furthermore, the advanced clinic is an expansion of the Neurology Department that offers a range of services including a dedicated 24/7 emergency hotline (1066), comprehensive diagnostics encompassing CT/CTA/CT perfusion, MR/MRA, cerebral angiogram, and 3D rotational angiogram.

Additionally, the clinic's specialised treatment services include IV thrombolysis, mechanical thrombectomy, extra- and intracranial stenting, aneurysm coiling, and embolization, specialized Stroke ICU, neurovascular monitoring, neuroclinical care, botulinum toxin therapy for spasticity, stroke physiotherapy, neurosurgical STA-MCA bypass, craniotomy, multidisciplinary clinics, and a preventive stroke clinic.

With this initiative, the Apollo Adlux Hospital underscores the relevance of stroke care focusing on physical medicine & rehabilitation for inpatients and outpatients in helping patients regain their independence and quality of life.

Moreover, the hospital's multidisciplinary team of rehabilitation specialists, consisting of physiotherapists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists, provides personalised treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs. 

Addressing the critical aspect of time in stroke care, Dr Arun Grace, senior neurologist and Dr Parthasarathy B, Neurologist, said, "Swift hospital admission is paramount for stroke patients. Timely intervention enhances recovery prospects significantly."

Inaugurated in 2018, Apollo Adlux Hospital is Kerala's first Apollo hospital and Apollo's 73rd hospital in India. The hospital is situated in Adlux Group's International Convention and Exhibition Centre, which is the largest in South India. This strategic partnership between the Apollo Hospitals Group and the Adlux Group seeks to bring global healthcare standards to the doorstep of the people of Kerala. 

The hospital offers a range of specialised healthcare services, including Cardiology, Cardiothoracic and Vascular & Endocrine Surgery, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Radiology, and Transfusion Medicine.

Recently, Apollo Hospitals launched its second facility in Kolkata in a cash deal worth INR 102 Cr.  For this project, the leading hospital group acquired a partially constructed hospital with equipment that is able to accommodate 325 beds. 

This acquisition marks the company's fifth addition in the eastern region, increasing the group's total hospital bed capacity to over 1.800 across Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and Guwahati.
