Andhra Pradesh officials confirmed that the funds would be used to modernize existing infrastructure, adding necessary facilities in rural and urban areas.
The Center has allocated INR 91 Cr to Andhra Pradesh to enhance Ayush healthcare institutions, including dispensaries and clinics.
This substantial funding marks a major leap from the INR 38 Cr the state received over the past five years for Ayush-related healthcare improvements.
This new financial injection will enable the modernization and upgrading of Ayush healthcare institutions, ensuring improved patient facilities across the state. The significant increase in funding is a response to the growing demand for enhanced Ayush healthcare services.
Reportedly, Andhra Pradesh officials confirmed that the funds would be used to modernize existing infrastructure, adding necessary facilities in rural and urban areas. The aim is to provide more efficient healthcare services and ensure patients have access to upgraded and better-equipped clinics.
The state struggled with limited funding for Ayush facilities in the last fiscal year, but with the INR 91 Cr now available, officials believe a more robust system will be in place by the end of the year.
"This funding will help us bridge the gap in healthcare services, especially in rural areas where access to modern Ayush treatments has been limited," said an official from the state health department.
On a broader note, Union Health Minister J P Nadda, in a virtual address at the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals (NABH) conference held on World Patient Safety Day, stressed the importance of digital healthcare systems and urged hospitals to embrace digital technology to enhance patient data management.
He highlighted the challenges hospitals face in transferring patient data, such as data security, interoperability, and accuracy issues.
"When patient data moves from one hospital to another, several challenges occur, including the security and accuracy of the information," Nadda said.
The Health Minister also emphasized the government's ongoing efforts to expand digital healthcare services, particularly in remote regions.
"Telemedicine and e-health services have been life-saving for patients in remote areas, where access to specialized medical experts is limited," he stated.
The state of Andhra Pradesh is expected to benefit significantly from both the financial support and the digital integration push, as modernized Ayush facilities will provide better care and be more aligned with national healthcare goals of digitalization and improved patient data management.
