Naidu noted that the government is actively working towards creating a healthier AP through AI-driven healthcare advancements.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has emphasized the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital health in revolutionizing healthcare in Andhra Pradesh.
In a recent post on the social media platform X, Naidu discussed his meeting with Dr Prateek Sharma, president of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), and Dr Rakesh Kalapala, Director of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Innovation at AIG Hospitals.
The meeting focused on the newly formed Healthcare Consortium, which aims to enhance healthcare, particularly in maternal and child health.
Naidu highlighted how AI-driven diagnostics could improve risk assessments and automate care solutions, making healthcare more accessible and effective.
Among the key innovations discussed was the development of real-time chatbots that communicate in local languages, offering guidance to expectant mothers on nutrition, prenatal care, and symptoms to watch for.
These chatbots will integrate with local health workers, ensuring advice is aligned with government guidelines and providing timely reminders for appointments.
Naidu stressed the importance of making maternal and child healthcare more accessible to reduce mortality rates, especially in rural areas.
He emphasized the need for scalable and affordable solutions to improve healthcare delivery across the state, with a clear focus on utilizing AI technologies to achieve these goals.
Moreover, the government is actively working towards creating a healthier Andhra Pradesh through AI-driven healthcare advancements, Naidu added.
Recently, the state secured INR 91 Cr to improve Ayush healthcare institutions, including dispensaries and clinics.
This significant funding represents a major increase from the INR 38 Cr allocated to the state over the past five years for Ayush healthcare improvements.
The new financial boost will facilitate the modernization and upgrading of Ayush healthcare institutions, ensuring better patient facilities statewide. The substantial rise in funding addresses the growing demand for improved Ayush healthcare services.
In another AI development in the healthcare space, recently the Karnataka government announced their decision to integrate AI technology in hospitals, medical colleges & hostels, in order to strengthen security.
This decision comes in response to the tragic rape and murder of a female trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 9, which sparked widespread protests.
State officials have confirmed that AI-powered cameras will be installed to monitor movement, detect intrusions, and identify suspicious activities through facial recognition technology.
