At the initiative's core is the Forge Factory, a state-of-the-art facility offering startups access to labs, prototyping tools, and validation spaces to build and test medical devices in real-world scenarios.
The Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ), India’s flagship medical device manufacturing park, has joined hands with FORGE Innovation & Ventures to establish a new ecosystem for medtech innovation within the Medivalley Research Square.
The collaboration introduces three new pillars—Forge Factory, Forge Academy, and Forge Accelerator—each aimed at supporting different stages of startup development in the healthcare technology sector.
At the core of the initiative is the Forge Factory, a state-of-the-art facility offering startups access to labs, prototyping tools, and validation spaces to build and test medical devices in real-world scenarios.
This physical infrastructure is designed to reduce the time and cost of product development for emerging entrepreneurs in the medtech domain.
The Forge Academy will provide structured learning and mentorship programs alongside the factory.
Entrepreneurs, engineers, and researchers will receive training in product design, regulatory pathways, industrial medtech, and the application of emerging technologies in healthcare, enhancing both technical expertise and market readiness.
The Forge Accelerator will offer curated programs for early-stage startups to support the commercialization journey.
These programs will include access to seed funding, business model development, and go-to-market support, helping innovators navigate the complex landscape of both Indian and global healthcare markets.
Dr. Jitendar Sharma, Managing Director and Founder CEO of AMTZ, noted that the partnership aligns with India’s larger goal of achieving self-reliance in affordable healthcare.
“Together, we will build an enabling ecosystem for startups where innovators can fearlessly test, refine, and launch transformative solutions,” he said.
Vish Sahasranamam, Co-founder and CEO of FORGE emphasized the value of infrastructure and collaboration. “This partnership with AMTZ gives us the ideal platform to build a strong open innovation network that not only nurtures startups but also serves India’s public health priorities.”
With this collaboration, AMTZ and FORGE aim to position Medivalley Research Square as a leading launchpad for medtech innovations that address pressing healthcare challenges both in India and beyond.
