The monthly super-specialty OPDs will provide continuous healthcare options for patients with chronic conditions or those needing specialized care in cardiology, nephrology, oncology, and hepatology.

Amrita Hospital has partnered with the Nagaland Government to offer specialized healthcare through monthly super-specialty outpatient clinics (OPDs) at Naga Hospital Kohima and District Hospital Dimapur.

The collaboration aims to bring cardiology, nephrology, oncology, and hepatology services closer to the residents of Nagaland, offering them access to expert medical care without long-distance travel.

As part of this initiative, Amrita Hospital specialists will hold monthly OPDs in cardiology and nephrology on the second Wednesday at Naga Hospital Kohima and the following day at District Hospital Dimapur.

Oncology and hepatology clinics are scheduled for the third Wednesday of each month in Kohima and the third Thursday in Dimapur.

This regular schedule aims to improve continuity of care and address specific healthcare needs in the region.

In addition to providing clinical services, Amrita Hospital will focus on enhancing local medical expertise through dedicated professional development sessions.

According to Dr Sanjeev Singh, Medical Director of Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, "The partnership will also focus on professional development for local medical practitioners. Amrita Hospital’s visiting specialists will conduct continuing medical education (CME) sessions tailored to the needs of Nagaland’s healthcare professionals, ensuring an ongoing exchange of expertise and knowledge.”

The partnership extends beyond clinical services, offering observership programs at Amrita Hospital for doctors from Nagaland, subject to approval from the Nagaland Government.

This initiative allows local doctors to gain hands-on experience, strengthening their skills and increasing familiarity with advanced clinical practices.

Swami Nijamritananda Puri, Administrative Director at Amrita Hospital, expressed hope that this collaboration will support healthcare access and professional development in Kohima and Dimapur.

“Through this collaboration, Amrita Hospital seeks to enhance healthcare access and support the professional growth of medical practitioners in Kohima and Dimapur, making high-quality specialized healthcare more accessible to the people of Nagaland,” he said.

The monthly super-specialty OPDs will provide continuous healthcare options for patients with chronic conditions or those needing specialized care in cardiology, nephrology, oncology, and hepatology.

By bringing specialists to Nagaland, the program aims to reduce patient load at larger hospitals outside the state and address critical gaps in healthcare access for the local population.
