This collaboration follows Amazon's $3.9 billion acquisition of One Medical in 2023 and further strengthens the company’s efforts to broaden access to healthcare services.

Amazon One Medical has partnered with the Montefiore Health System to expand its primary and specialty care services in New York’s Westchester County and surrounding areas.

This collaboration follows Amazon's $3.9 billion acquisition of One Medical in 2023 and further strengthens the company’s efforts to broaden access to healthcare services.

Under this new partnership, Amazon One Medical will open its first primary care clinics in Westchester County to provide seamless, coordinated care to local residents.

The new facilities, affiliated with Montefiore, are set to open next year. Amazon announced that the primary care offices will feature same- and next-day appointment availability, on-site lab services, and wraparound virtual care support.

“This collaboration will enable patients to have increased access to seamless coordinated care through Amazon One Medical’s innovative care model and Montefiore’s high-quality network of specialists, hospitals, and facilities,” the companies stated in a joint release.

Montefiore Health System provides medical care to approximately three million people across the Bronx, Westchester, and the Hudson Valley. By joining forces with One Medical, Montefiore seeks to enhance its ability to coordinate patient care effectively.

Amazon One Medical will be able to refer patients to Montefiore specialists as needed, helping to avoid redundant testing, cut costs, and improve overall healthcare outcomes.

“As we look to the future of healthcare, our responsibility continues to be sustaining high-quality care delivered locally and in the most appropriate setting. Our collaboration with Amazon One Medical will enhance primary care offerings across the communities we serve and ensure those with needs for specialty care have the option to be seen and treated by our world-renowned clinicians,” said Dr Philip O Ozuah, president and CEO of Montefiore Einstein.

Amazon One Medical also offers 24/7 virtual care through its mobile app, which provides on-demand video visits, secure messaging with providers, and digital health assessments, among other services.

This combination of in-person and virtual care is intended to make healthcare more accessible and convenient for individuals in the region.

“We look forward to collaborating with Montefiore to expand access to high-quality, seamless, coordinated care for more residents in New York. Teaming up with Montefiore advances our mission of making it easier for more people to get and stay healthy, bringing our human-centered and technology-powered model to individuals and employers in Westchester and surrounding areas,” said Trent Green, CEO of Amazon One Medical.

Wider Reach & Future Plans

The partnership is part of Amazon One Medical’s broader strategy to expand its primary care services across the United States.

In addition to collaborations with large health systems such as Cleveland Clinic and Hackensack Meridian Health, the company has worked with more than 10,000 employers to offer primary care services to their employees and families.

The new partnership with Montefiore is one of several initiatives to expand One Medical’s reach and improve healthcare access nationwide.
