This development builds on its existing pay-per-visit telehealth model and introduces tailored care for issues like men’s hair loss, anti-aging skincare, and motion sickness.
Amazon One Medical has rolled out a subscription-based telehealth service, targeting Prime members seeking affordable treatments for common health and lifestyle conditions.
This development builds on its existing pay-per-visit telehealth model and introduces tailored care for issues such as men’s hair loss, anti-aging skincare, and motion sickness.
The new service provides low, upfront monthly pricing that covers clinical visits, personalized treatment plans, and medication delivery. For example, treatments for anti-aging skin care start at £8/month, hair loss solutions at £13/month, and motion sickness medication at £1.60/use through Prime Rx.
Prime members in cities such as Los Angeles, New York, and Seattle will also receive free same-day delivery of prescribed medications.
This move positions Amazon One Medical against telehealth providers like Ro and Hims & Hers, which are known for catering to discreet, stigmatized health concerns. Amazon stated that its pricing undercuts competitors, offering significant savings—up to 92% on erectile dysfunction treatments compared to alternative services.
Bergen Penhart, General Manager for Amazon One Medical Pay-per-visit, commented, “We're committed to giving customers convenient, affordable care options that put them in control of their health. This new offering makes it easy for Prime members to get expert clinical advice and prescribed treatments for common health, beauty, and lifestyle needs, all from the comfort of home.”
The subscription-based service is part of its broader strategy to consolidate healthcare offerings. Earlier this year, Amazon integrated its Amazon Clinic telehealth platform into One Medical’s primary care services.
Dr. Vin Gupta, Chief Medical Officer for Amazon Pharmacy, emphasized the patient-first approach, saying, “This simple care experience was built to meet the needs of today’s customer. At Amazon, we’re working to reduce the burden on patients who’d like to move forward with care but may be tired of navigating the hurdles of our healthcare system, waiting in a long line at the pharmacy, or worried about a surprise bill or medication cost. We’re helping patients re-engage in care and spend time doing what they love instead.”
Amazon will continue offering its Pay-per-visit telehealth service with messaging visits priced at £23 and video consultations at £39. However, the subscription model marks a shift towards a bundled, more accessible approach to health services.
