AIIMS Raebareli and AIIMS Delhi, in collaboration with healthtech firm Lifesigns, have launched a real-time health monitoring system at the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 to improve medical response and patient care during the massive gathering.
The initiative involves a wireless monitoring platform that collects and analyzes vital health data in real time, including ECG, heart rate, respiration, SpO2, blood pressure, and posture.
The system is integrated with AIIMS' emergency response framework, using 200 wearable devices to transmit live health parameters to a centralized dashboard.
This technology enables simultaneous monitoring of multiple patients, allowing healthcare professionals to receive instant alerts and gain actionable insights.
Its mobility and network capabilities ensure uninterrupted patient tracking, optimizing response times and resource allocation in high-density environments.
Dr Suyash Singh, HOD Neurosurgery, AIIMS, said, “Lifesigns' platform has proven to be an invaluable tool, enabling real-time monitoring and prompt medical interventions, ensuring the safety and well-being of millions of pilgrims.”
Healthcare teams are leveraging Lifesigns' secure, web-based dashboard to provide 24/7 remote patient monitoring.
This scalable solution demonstrates the potential of digital health in mass gatherings, disaster relief, and global public health initiatives.
