The initiative aims to accelerate biomedical research, clinical trials, and AI-driven healthcare advancements in Hong Kong while fostering global collaborations among hospitals, research institutions, and AI service providers.

Equinix has partnered with AiHPC to introduce Orchestration AI (OrchAI), an open AI healthcare and life sciences platform on Platform Equinix.

The initiative aims to accelerate biomedical research, clinical trials, and AI-driven healthcare advancements in Hong Kong while fostering global collaborations among hospitals, research institutions, and AI service providers.

With AI adoption in Hong Kong’s healthcare sector is expected to grow from $1.03 billion in 2025 to $3.43 billion by 2030, medical institutions are increasingly investing in high-performance computing (HPC) to tackle computational and data exchange challenges.

OrchAI, integrated with Platform Equinix, seeks to provide an interconnected digital ecosystem, enabling faster research processes, efficient data management, and seamless AI adoption.

A spokesperson for Equinix highlighted the platform’s role in eliminating key bottlenecks, said, “By integrating OrchAI with our global healthcare and life sciences ecosystem, we are addressing critical industry pain points, such as data silos and inefficient workflows, to create a seamless environment for innovation.”

OrchAI enables direct cloud connectivity for healthcare and life sciences institutions via Equinix Internet Access and Equinix Fabric.

This infrastructure significantly reduces data upload time—for instance, upload speeds to AWS Cloud in Hong Kong or Singapore have improved by over 90 percent compared to standard public internet speeds.

A representative from AiHPC emphasized the importance of secure and scalable data exchange, “With the growing complexity of healthcare data, ensuring fast, compliant, and secure access to AI-driven tools is crucial. OrchAI’s infrastructure enhances scalability while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.”
