Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's leadership, Uttar Pradesh is implementing advanced healthcare technology for Maha Kumbh 2025, including AI-enabled ICU systems to enhance patient care.
The initiative aligns with the state government’s vision of a “Healthy Maha Kumbh” and aims to set new benchmarks in event medical management.
For the first time, artificial intelligence (AI) systems will be deployed in Intensive Care Units at the event to improve patient monitoring and treatment. The advanced AI messaging flow system will translate 22 regional and 19 international languages into Hindi or English, enabling seamless communication between doctors and patients from across the world.
Dr Gaurav Dubey, Senior Medical Officer and Nodal Officer for Maha Kumbh, revealed that a 10-bed ICU equipped with AI-enabled microphones and cameras would operate at the Central Hospital in Mahakumbh Nagar.
"Special AI-enabled microphones will be installed near each patient, capable of instantly translating 22 regional and 19 international languages into Hindi or English. This will bridge language barriers, enabling seamless communication between doctors and patients for effective treatment,” he said.
Further, the system will automatically notify team leaders in case of critical deterioration, ensuring immediate action.
Additionally, telemedicine facilities will allow on-site doctors to consult with specialists from Medanta Hospital, further enhancing patient care.
Preparations are underway to accommodate 45 crore devotees. A 100-bed Central Hospital and ten additional healthcare facilities, including units in Jhunsi and Arail, are being established. Specialist doctors will be deployed to manage healthcare during the event.
