This technology enables healthcare providers to continuously monitor patients in various settings, including those in bed, ambulatory patients within hospital premises, or patients at home.
Dozee, a healthcare technology startup, has introduced an ambulatory connected patient monitoring system, 'Dozee Pro Ex,' designed with a 'Made in India, for the World' approach.
As per the startup, this system utilises wireless wearable sensors to offer continuous monitoring of vital patient parameters, including ECG rhythm, blood pressure, heart rate/pulse rate, oxygen saturation, respiration rate, and temperature.
During the product launch, Gaurav Parchani, cofounder and CTO of Dozee, said, "In today's digital era, we've transformed banking, trading, entertainment, shopping, food delivery, and even grocery shopping, all at our fingertips. Why should healthcare be any different?"
One of the key features of Dozee Pro Ex is its AI-powered early warning system, which tracks vital parameter trends and provides timely alerts for potential clinical deterioration.
This technology enables healthcare providers to continuously monitor patients in various settings, including those in bed, ambulatory patients within hospital premises, or patients at home. Monitoring can be conducted through a central command centre and mobile apps designed for doctors and nurses.
To enhance the capabilities of the Dozee Pro Ex, the startup has partnered with Wellysis, incorporating their FDA-cleared ECG monitoring device, S-Patch Ex. This device comprises a wireless ECG patch for continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring and an associated analysis platform.
The analysis platform offers automated AI analysis of cardiac rhythm, a physician dashboard, ECG interpretation, and diagnostic reporting.
Dozee's ambulatory-connected patient monitoring system aims to revolutionise patient monitoring in non-ICU hospital wards by digitising and automating the process. It incorporates early warning systems to establish a new standard for patient safety.
The continuous monitoring claims to eliminate the current gap in vital sign data availability between periodic spot checks, enabling more accurate identification of clinical deterioration. This, in turn, will facilitate timely medical intervention, potentially reducing adverse events in non-ICU wards.
Moreover, the system addresses the increasing demand for home care services in India by enabling continuous remote patient monitoring.
Per the startup, with its contactless and wireless sensors, the technology enhances patient experience and compliance with monitoring protocols, significantly improving the delivery of home healthcare services.
Dozee Pro Ex offers a contactless approach and modular flexibility, allowing healthcare providers to deliver optimal care while ensuring patient comfort in ambulatory settings. It caters to patients with higher mobility requirements and those needing round-the-clock monitoring, enabling a proactive approach to personalised care.
Dr Vijay Agarwal, president of the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organisations (CAHO), said, "In the pursuit of excellence in healthcare, it's imperative to embrace innovative solutions that enhance patient care and streamline healthcare processes. The contactless and AI-driven capabilities of this technology is advancing healthcare quality and standards across the country."
Established in 2015 by Mudit Dandwate and Gaurav Parchani, Dozee is a contactless health monitoring technology. It discreetly monitors vital health metrics such as heart rate, respiration, sleep patterns, stress levels, cardiac contractions, apnea, and more during the user's sleep.
Leveraging advanced AI algorithms, Dozee enables the early detection of any signs of health deterioration. Healthcare professionals or caregivers can access the collected health data remotely through Dozee's patient monitoring system and dedicated app.
